To any mom that feels the guilt. To any mom that feels alone. An Open Letter To That Mother...

An Open Letter To That Mother…

To mom that feels the guilt. To any mom that feels alone. An Open Letter To That Mother...

That Mother who had to be up early this morning.
I was there with you, stumbling out of bed.

That Mother who was doing chores, running errands or working on little to no sleep.
I was there with you, trying to organize the day and guzzling down the coffee necessary for the day.

That Mother in the waiting room, rubbing your temples, wondering how you were going to make it through the day.
I was there with you, rubbing my eyes and wondering if I could do it.

That Mother holding back the tears as you make more appointments for your son.
I was there with you, dialing and sniffing to avoid sobbing.

That Mother who was watching her daughter play.
I was there with you, wondering why they grow so fast.

That Mother who feels alone, even when she's not.
I was there with you, helping you along.

That Mother who feels like her house is not her home.
I was there with you, feeling displaced.

That Mother that cries on the inside everyday.
I am there with you, tissues in hand.

That Mother who worries about her child's future.
I am there with you, trying to see it.

That Mother that feels like it's her fault.
I am there with you, basking in the blame.

That Mother that doesn't think she can handle another day.
I am there with you, trying to find a way.

That Mother that can't sleep at night due to worry, kids and everything else.
I am there with you, rubbing my feet together and pacing in the hall.

That Mother in the mirror that looks past herself.
I am here with you.

I am you.

That Mother

  5. Sharon

So sweet. How can you make me laugh so much and then make me all emotional!?!? Lol!

  6. mommamellon

I'm there with you. I was thinking this morning I didn't have enough time, didn't spend enough time with the kids, didn't do enough, I know how you feel. πŸ™‚ *hugs*

  7. Sending some hugs your way Echo! Days like this are hard but you are incredibly strong and will come out of days like this even stronger! Hang in there mama πŸ™‚

  8. I wasn't even a sad girl today and this post pulled my heart strings! I'm right there too. Motherhood can easily be a sisterhood when you put it like this <3

  9. Melissa Swedoski

Oh, Echo. Just beautiful. How many times have these various thoughts floated through my head as well? It's nice to know that someone else is going through it, even if from far away! *hugs*

  10. The Pajama Mama

This is really beautiful and heartbreaking. It's so important that we lift each other up. Thanks for linking up with the MaMade Blog Hop!

  11. Thanks Kristy! It is always amazing how a few words can resonate for so many. Hugs back! πŸ˜‰

  12. Thank you, Savanna! I am right there with you, as well! I think we should all be there for each other!

  13. That's part of my insanity, Sharon! Prone to ridiculous mood swings! In all seriousness, sometimes you just need to let your emotions out. This is what happened when I did.

  14. It gets us all sometimes. We just need to be there for ourselves and for each other.

  15. Sorry if I made you sad, Rebecca! Motherhood should be a sisterhood! <3 I hate the constant judgement between mothers and the "mommy wars"! We should all build each other up instead of tearing each other down!

  16. *hugs* Melissa! Having a supportive group of moms/friends helps so much! Being able to share your feelings and have them understood is amazing! No matter how far away we are, we can still support each other!

  17. I'm glad to hear that, Marwa! I think that we should all know that we are not alone!

  18. Thanks Pajama Mama! It is so important that we support and build each other up! I hate all of the negativity!

  21. Your welcome! We all have these feelings at one time or another. They just happen. I have no idea why either. I just know it does.

  22. This is beautiful! Thank you so much! Every mother should be there for another mother. {{{hugs}}}

  23. Isn't it wonderful to know that someone understands and relates to you?! I love that about blogging!

  25. The mother who feels alone even when she's not, mother who cries in the inside everyday, and mother who feels like it's her fault — I can totally relate. This is such a sweet post! πŸ™‚

I love this. At the end of the day we are all moms going through the same struggles and emotions in our own journeys. This post is a beautifully written reminder of that sisterhood.

  29. Thank you, Jen! I wish more of us realized that! We are all mothers, why can't we all be sisters too?

  30. thatnorfolkmum

Hi Echo, This is the first post I've read on your blog (visiting via A Time For Seasons linkup). What a lovely sentiment and one I think all mums would be glad to read. Think I'll bookmark this and read it again later during the 4am feed, gah!
