Used K-Cup Noise Makers!

These are really simple to put together, make a great noise (that isn't too loud or annoying) and are easy for the kids to carry around.

supplies for used k-cup noise makers

  • 2 empty K-Cups per noise maker
  • 1 pipe cleaner
  • a few beads
  • paint in your desired colors
  • glue

The assembly is pretty easy!

Insert the pipe cleaner into the pre-made hole in the used k-cup so that about 1/2 an inch is inside and fold it over. Add your beads into the bottom of the k-cup and then, put glue along the rim of the k-cup. Place the other k-cup on top so that they match up and hold them together for a minute or so. After that, set it down, pipe cleaner side up and put a little dab of glue where the pipe cleaner enters the k-cup. Let this dry for at least 30 minutes to an hour. Then, insert the other end of the pipe cleaner into the other hole and secure it with a dab of glue.

Once they are assembled, they need some decoration! Let your little artist go crazy! It is for New Year's, after all!

  6. Totally fun! My kids love noisemakers. And I’ve done something similar with dixie cups but found them to be a bit flimsy in Des’ strong hands.

  16. Genius! Seriously. We used to run up and down the street banging pots and pans as a kid. I was planning on letting the kids do this in the front yard if they miraculously managed to stay up til midnight tonight. My neighbors would kill us though so now I think I might find a way to make their own noisemakers. Thank you so much for the idea!
