  2. Yes, I have been there! But.. it didn’t go according to plan. I loved it there and it was an important stop on our two week road trip to move east. We did go to Mt. Rushmore but it was fogged in. I was staring right at it but couldn’t see it so they didn’t charge us. Will I go back to finally see it? Yes.
    Also, we had this trip, as you know. Our next few stops were near YOU! Also, this whole story is how I got pregnant with Scarlet but that’s probably not a story for your comments?

  7. I still remember vacationing in South Dakota when I was a child! I love it. We went to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and some natural parks. It was really beautiful.

  8. We’re heading to South Dakota this summer, and I can’t wait to explore! We did North Dakota last year and enjoyed ourselves immensely, so I know the sister state (or brother state??) will be just as amazing!

  13. I lived in Rapid City, SD for about five years and the place is gorgeous! There are so many places you can see and I think there is something for everyone! Next time you are there make sure you get one of the locals to show you the sites that most tourists are not able to see!

  18. I’ve never heard of the dark hills but it sounds scary… especially since it derives from being a ghost town. If that’s your thing, to each it’s own 🙂
